How the College is run

IMAT College is a subsidiary of IMAT Group of Companies duly registered business in Sierra Leone with its Chief Executive Officer being the Chairman of its board and the one who takes all important decision daily on its behalf. The Director is responsible for all administrative issues of the business and students admissions including all day to day operational agreed directives. The Admissions Manager is responsible for the recruitment of students and the effective management of the entire students’ lifecycle from prospective to Alumni. The Admissions Manager reports to the Director. The Finance Manger (FM) is responsible for the collection of school fees and the remuneration of teaching and non-teaching staff. The Finance Manager avails herself to the Internal Auditor quarterly. The Admissions Office is broadly responsible for the students’ recruitment and retention process by ensuring that all students are issued admission offers on time and provided with the correct learning materials to commence their studies.

IMAT College is managed by Amadu Justice Bah who has large fund of experience in managing educational programmes. Mr. Amadu Sidi Bah is the acting head of the undergraduate law department and a graduate of University of London and He was a recipient of the highest awards in 2016/17 academic year at the Sierra Leone Law School. IMAT College is managed currently by the chair, Amadu Justice Bah who is as well the chairman of the Board of Directors.

The Academic / Examination Board is chaired by the Academic Affairs Manager together with three other members who are mainly responsible for the effective supervision and monitoring of the IMAT College Dialogue Form (a performance management tool to help lecturers effectively plan their teaching objectives agreed upon before they lecture) This Board is responsible for giving orientation to new lectures and reporting on students’ evaluation of all teaching staffs. The Academic Board supervises the conduct of all internal examinations and assesses students’ performance in relation to lectures’ input for both local and external examinations.

IMAT College has an Academic Affairs Team which is responsible for providing academic directions and the supervision of quality assurance standards required by the University of London. The Academic Affairs Manager holds a Master of Arts degree in education (measurement and evaluation) The Academic Affairs Manager plans the academic time table for the year and is responsible for supervising academic staffs’ evaluation and performance appraisal. He helps greatly in guiding the recruitment of academic staffs.
